Mustard Tree is both an online store and a physical retail store (located at Ng Teng Fong Hospital at Jurong East, Level 2).

Founders Soek Ying and Barry set out to build a business that would empower people with special needs. To achieve their social objectives, they first want to establish a healthy brand, recognized for great products and a good cause. At the same time, they seek to empower people with special needs with craft skills, meaningful employment and thus helping to build their sense of self-worth and self-confidence.

They believe it’s important to integrate people with special needs into regular society (and not hiding them behind walls away from public view). As such, if you do go by the store, you will see the special needs community that they reach out to there helping out, and working on their craft.

Mustard Tree is committed to reinvesting resulting profits to create new businesses, training and jobs so that their special needs artisans may enjoy a dignified life.
